Uniden's EXAI7248 cordless phone combines 2.4 GHz signal operation with call waiting and caller ID compatibility and an integrated digital answering system. The handset features a three-line backlit LCD, allowing easy access to the 30-name-and-number log and other information that's displayed in your choice of English, French, or Spanish. The handset also features last number redial, handset locator, programmable speed dial locations (10), and more.
The EXAI7248's base unit houses an integrated digital answering system. Messages can be accessed directly through the base using convenient control buttons with help from convenient voice prompts. Messages can also be retrieved from other locations around the house using the handset, or through remote retrieval when you're away from home. A new-message alert indicator with an optional audible alert tone signals new messages.
The EXAI7248 offers hearing aid compatibility for the hearing impaired, and is also headset compatible. It is backed by a one-year warranty.

Hi,
I purchased this item NEW, had it sent directly to my daughter and although the base works the headset did not. Guess now we know why there are so many refurbished ones out there. I contacted the seller and they want it returned prior to replacing it, which is bull, so I tossed it in the garbage where it belonged, went to Walmart and got a better and cheaper one. This is what I should have done in the first place but I didn't want to bother with shipping it.

The way the original photo of the product was depicted gave me the impresion that an extra (extension) handset was part of the deal. I saw a same product in our local store for $5 dollar less, minus $8.95 shipping cost! Also when I called the dealer for the return of the product (because it is not working) I made responsible for the extra shipping cost for exchange. So, I decided to forget it!
Answering machine is nice, but the phone itself is garbage!.......2006-02-25
The good: The answering machine is nice, with simple features that are easy to use. It's cheap (in price): we didn't want a fancy phone, just something functional.
The bad, VERY bad: CHEAP (in headset quality). Like some others noted, it is difficult to hear the person on the other end. There have been occasions where we couldn't hear them at all. There is no way to increase the volume further. Even right next to the receiver you often cannot hear anything.
Bottom line: Spend a little bit more and buy another phone....we have to. This one is going in the garbage (would feel guilty selling it at the garage sale...or even giving it away)

The reception of the phone rapidly decreased over distance. Clear phone conversations could only be held in the same room as the base unit.

Where to find the ink cartridge refills ????.......2007-12-21
Overall, pretty nice looking photos. I am impressed. The paper is not sticky after it prints as is the case with the HP printer that I have. My only gripe, is that I cannot find the cartridge refills anywhere. Are they being phased out, discontinued? Maybe because of the Holidays they are in short supply. Many online places have them as sold out. Forget about getting them around town,no one has them. I would rate this a 4 star, I really like the ease of use, but really do not like the fact that I need to look and look around for the cartridges.
Very Dark Pictures.......2007-11-11
Overall it seems like this printer would be great, however, there is a big big issue here. The pictures that are printed are very dark. This makes people's faces almost impossible to see. I'm using iPhoto to print my pictures instead of printing directly from the camera/memory card itself so mabye that is the issue.
I've seen this complaint on numerous message boards (including this one) and I didn't really believe it, but now that I own the printer I can tell you that it is a real problem. There has not been a "fix" released by Canon for this problem yet and I get the feeling there never will be from what their customer support has been telling me.

Great photos with some tweaking.......2007-11-07
We got this about 2 weeks ago; the quality is superior to our last inkjet photo printer, and it's ease of use and small footprint are major pluses. The photos came out a bit dark, but it's all adjustable with the included drivers. Price is about $.26/print, a bit on the high end. It's easy enough for anyone to use, and has lots of options for inputs. Another well-built product from Canon.
Selphy superb.......2007-11-01
Once you accept the obvious about this compact printer you will love it. It is, obviously, very small and light and intended for absolutely carefree printing of almost 4X6 inch snapshots. Just insert the memory media from your camera into the Selphy (no computer needed) and you can crop, make the simple adjustments to the image that would satisfy most of us for a snapshot, push the button and enjoy the blank photo sheet slide out, rotate, adjust itself properly and slide in and out several times applying each layer of color and a final coating. The image is very good, but not as good, in my opinion, as a top-of-the-line ink jet printer. But very good, nevertheless. Detail is superb so landscape photos are great. It is the perfect printer to spit out today's snaps of that quaint town you visited (you can certainly bring Selphy with you in the car or RV -- it can even run on batteries) and give a copy to those new friends you made at the local pub. For that great photo you captured to display on your dining room wall wait until you get home and use a professional printer. But for ease of use and excellent small snaps, this printer is perfect.
I'd love it, but............2007-10-18
I really wanted to give Canon 5 stars on this one. The footprint is small, the idea so superb, but the printer doesn't reproduce the pictures I print faithfully.
Canon support has been excellent, but, they replaced my ES1 that was printing dark pictures with an all new one, and the results were the same. So, until I can get a true representation of the pictures that I am trying to print, this printer gets a 3 star.
The print quality is amazing, but the darkness of the prints makes the features on a person's face undetectable, ruining all family pics. There is no option to make adjustments on the printer, so unless you want to edit all your pictures (that really don't need editing) you are stuck with darker than real shots.
