We have had the same problems other reviewers reported. The caller ID stopped working first after about 6 months. We were unplugging to reset it several times a day. Then even answering the phone became hit and miss. The one good thing is that the manufacturer replaced it with no hassle. So far it has been another 8 months and the caller ID has only gone out 3-4 times in the past couple months. But the volume is not good (I'm constantly asking callers to repeat themselves) and it clicks all the time which is very annoying. We have just replaced it with a phone that got great reviews. I am hoping it works much better than this one.

I had this phone for approximately a month before I had to return it for replacement. Not once.....but three times. I finally gave up and thought I could grin and bear the horrible reception (it sounded like you were going through a wind tunnel), these odd popping noises, and the other little quirks (like the odd way you check caller id). But now a little less than a year later, caller id has stopped working and sometimes I can't answer the phone via the speakerphone. The features are great, but the phone is as painful as water torture. I can think of better ways to waste money.

The caller ID has stopped working, I have to unplug it to "reset" it almost every day. The volume is too low as well. Would not recommend this item - although I would suggest going with a dual handset, very handy!

This model worked OK for about 9 months, then the caller ID quit working. It would work for a short stretch and then go out. I agree with the complaint about the volume, also.
Looks Better Than it Operates.......2003-09-20
The two phones are handy, and the wired base station is great to have as backup during power outage. However the speakerphone volume is too low and the recording quality poor. Also, there was distortion while speaking on the wired handset that was bothersome. Lastly, my family complained of "echo" and inconsistent volume while speaking on the instrument, wired or wireless.

Not cheap, but it works! .......2005-08-19
After an abysmal, time consuming experience with the Epson 4990, I moved up to this dedicated film scanner. Everything about it is expensive, but once you've got it, it does everything you ask of it. Some have said they'd never buy a scanner without digital ICE. Don't let that dissuade you. Handle your negatives with kid gloves, dust them off with Velocity spray or the like and you'll have no trouble. To install the firewire cable/card I had to physically go inside my computer...not a problem, though. XP makes it easy to install the software/hardware. This scanner works perfectly for me. I'm very impressed so far.
Fantastic Medium Format Scanner!!.......2004-01-21
I was skeptical at first when I heard that Microtek was coming out with a medium format scanner, as I had only seen 35mm scanners from them. My skepticism aside this is a great product. I read a few reviews online and decided to live a little and take the plunge. I received the scanner, set it up and then went to work with it. The installation was flawless in Windows XP and the firewire connection seems very responsive. As for the actual scans the images come out crisp and very detailed. ScanWizard Pro allows me to plug in all my profiles which is nice as I can simply add in my ICM profile from my printer and off I go. I am pleased so far with the progress that this scanner has made, as I have hundreds of scans to go.
