What a sweet case.......2007-10-11
Ive had this case for almost a year and I think its the best one out there. Im a satisfied customer thats why Im writing a stellar review. Ok the case is very thin. So thin that it seems like the ipod is barely any bigger. Basically this is a clear shell around your ipod. Will it protect against a 2 story fall? No, but if you drop your ipod 2 stories, you might be an idiot. Will it protectable in 30 ft water? No, so don't listen to music when you swim. It will protect against all scratches normal bangs and beat downs. I think if you want a fashion case, not for you, if you want a thin extra layer of armor, its perfect.

With no real "official" cases out there for the new iPod Classics, this case is the probably the best you can get for now. I tried a few at the Apple Store (man, security is lax over there. I was opening boxes left and right and no one made a peep) and this one was a PERFECT FIT.
I like this case because of the clear plastic front. With the Classic being all sexy with it's aluminum front, I wanted to make sure I could still show that off. Has a nice clip on the back for taking it on the go. I also use the clip to attach to my fabric dashboard cover in my car for on-the-road play! It's great! I don't condone watching videos while you drive, but it's tempting!
Your 80gb iPod Classic is begging to be inside the case! Grant it's wish today!

The case is awesome, very protective and attractive.
But what gives with the scratch on the front plastic and the indelible smudges on the back? It looks as if it has either been used or quality control is poor. This is my 2nd Contour case and this one is definitely not as nice out of the box.
If Amazon is selling seconds or floor models it should be told to the customer up front!

This case is gorgeous and I love the rubber bumper around the edge. The belt clip was difficult to get on and off your belt however, and it will only hold up until the first time you drop it. Now the belt clip isn't usable but the case itself protects the ipod superbly. Just pray you don't drop the thing while trying to get it on or off your belt!
Buyer beware.......2007-06-21
I bought this for my husband's black iPod (I had the Claro iSkin) and then bought one for myself because it seemed less bulkier and more streamlined than my Claro iSkin. Well, it is lighter, but I agree with another customer that it attracts dust, hair, sediment (easily slips through an opening where the hinge is located as well as the touchpad). And yes, the clip is ridiculous to attach/take off). The back of my iPod has since gotten scratched up from sediment getting into the aforementioned opening, so I'm bummed. The plastic is pretty easy to scuff and scrape, too, so it just looks crappy overall. Since I scratched up the back of the iPod after using this case, I'm kicking myself for not keeping it safe in the other case with the extra protective silicon sleeve. Oh well, live and learn. Be forewarned!

The best case for the 30gb Video iPOD.......2007-06-24
I just purchased this case for the third time. Why? Because I'm a klutz! I've dropped my iPod several time and this case saved it every time. It prevents scratching and keeps it looking brand new. I would be buying many more iPods instead of cases if not for Contour.
The "BEST" iPod case period!!!.......2007-04-11
I researched many iPod cases & designs and was very impressed with the reviews I read about the Showcase Video 30. I purchased one and I must admit it does live up to the hype. My 30 gig iPod fits perfectly in the uniquely designed case. It does not scratch my iPod like almost all of the other cases tend to do (per reviews). You however will have to open it up to clean out the dust occasionally and that is simple enough to do.
I have not had any problems with the belt clip. The belt clip has a unique design for attaching to the case; It is fine for "casual" use. I do not however reccomend the belt clip for use in active or rugged applications. The belt clip does have a nice design for attaching to the case; I just do not see it standing up to real rigorous use. If it gets bumped hard enough it will let loose. The locking mechanisim for the case itself is very well designed and "sweet"; you will appreciate the thought put into it.
The case will scratch of course but it will definately protect your iPod investment. You may want to consider applying a plastic screen protector to protect your the area of the case where the screen is. As for those few "whiners" whining about scratches on the "case?" they are both unreasonable & unrealistic. The case is "supposed" to take the "inevitable" scratches in order to "protect" your iPod. No one said the case was sratch-proof; Duhhhh!!!! Those few whiners have no business rating anything if they cannot understand the realistic purpose of the item they are rating. I rate them with another big DUHHHHH!!!!!
The over-all case is very attractive, very functional, very well designed. The rubber edges will help your iPod survive a drop if that should happen. I highly reccomend the Showcase Video 30 and at this point would not use any other case.
showcase contour video fits the bill.......2007-04-04
second one of these I've bought. Got one for my 60 gb video and my wife wanted it. Bought her this 30 gb model. Excellent fit and appearance. Secure and well protected while still giving easy access to controls. Have tried several covers and liked this one the best. The clear hard plastic case lets my ipod be seen and the rubber trim around the edge cushions the ipod from accidental drops (it happens). Also the hinge is very secure for locking the case shut tight.
The best Ipod case around.......2007-03-25
This case is perfect for protecting the Ipod. They are easily scratched and this covers the entire Ipod with the exception of the wheel. It is surrounded by a rubber strip and locks on the side. I have the video 30G and the case allows good visibility of the screen.
Great Case.......2007-03-11
So far it is a great case. My ipod is is in very good shape and the case still looks good. I am not especially rough with my ipod so i didn't need a thick rubber or silicon case. This case still lets me hold my ipod in my pocket and keeps it looking like an ipod. I would recommend this case to friends.
