cool!.......2007-12-13
great radio!
not too loud tho, thats its only flaw. everything else is great. easy to use everything. good for a lil reunion of about 5 but not good enough for a party.
the bluetooth feature is awesome!
Tons of technology, but don't throw away your old clock radio!.......2007-12-09
Just got this the other day. Here are my thoughts:
* Gadgetry
Okay, this thing has all the technology - It's got bluetooth connectivity, including the ability to play music from another device wireless and answer phone calls (built-in mic). It has an SD card slot, and a USB slot for other devices (haven't tried this out yet). It has an iPod dock. It'll even rip your CDs. I haven't seen anything on the market with this many options.
* Ease of Use (Interface)
This is where things start to go a bit off. It's not the easiest device to use. The display doesn't show the most relevant information. For example, if you're looking at it in bluetooth mode, it just keeps repeating the words "BLUETOOTH" in caps on the screen. But that's redundant because I already know that fact due to the big flashing blue light in the corner. Also, though this thing looks like a clock radio, it doesn't function very well as one (it rarely shows the time throughout the various functions - alarm is hard to set).
* Sound
It's fair - Not a whole lot of bass, mids are a little muddy, highs are very nice. Having said that, I don't have a comparable reference - I'm comparing it to my home stereo system and the bose wave radio.
* Quality / How's it Look
A good looking device - Definitely doesn't look cheap. It's got a big back end on it, but overall isn't too large. Fits on my nightstand just fine. The buttons are a little plasticky.
* In Summary
I'm going to continue using it - if only because there's no stereo out there that has this mix of features. I bought a bluetooth adapter for my ipod touch. It's very cool that I can be sitting anywhere in my bedroom and picking music. And if it runs short on batteries, I can drop it right into the ipod dock. But... I'm going to have to dig my 15-year-old clock radio out of the closet.

When accuracy and record keeping are essential, the Model 100 allows conversations on virtually any analog or digital modular phone system to be recorded. This handset-interface product will connect a cassette recorder, or even the sound card in your computer, to most telephones and ensures that all sides of a conversation are recorded at equal levels.

Great Product for Recording Teleconferences to MP3.......2007-07-09
I've used a similar device for years from Dynametric without any problems. But, you can't beat this price at Amazon. The Konexx enables your cassette recorder, PC sound card, any mic jack, etc. to interface with your phone. FYI: All sides of the phone conversation are recorded at equal volume levels. And, this does not require a power source.
I usually use Audacity (GNU/Public freeware) for the recordings and then you can save the file in any format you prefer: mp3, ogg, wma, etc. I like Audacity because it's so easy to use - simple to tweak the sound levels during the call as well to compensate for low talkers.
Simple and excellent quality.......2006-03-17
this works exactly as it should. very easy to setup.
excellent for recording phone conversations.......2005-05-04
I have used this for the past several years to record telephone interviews with my computer. The Model 100 is a little more expensive than the standard Radioshcak special, but it works so much better. The conversations are always clear, well as clear as they were durring the phone call.
In addition, I record the conversations as MP3 files and then play the back with Winamp, because winamp has nice contols, x, c, and v, for plaing and pausing, so its easy to transcribe.
This is worth it, and it hook up between the phone base and the hand set, won't work on speakerphone.

What you would expect.......2007-06-30
This was actually a good piece of hardware, it does what it advertises. I picked up a couple of HD channels, ppl have been complaining about the software but i used Vista Media Center which accepted it with no hassle. Though it does get hot after a couple of hours of use, but that's expected in a tuner.
great for what it does.......2007-06-08
This produces very clear pictures and I really like it. But I don't know how the alternatives perform. However, the issues I've observed are:
- gets REALLY hot and can't use for very long
- works WORSE when you plug in the antenna
Could've been so much more..........2007-06-08
This tuner could've been all that could've been... but not quite. Install wasn't as smooth. Remember to plug it in first prior to installing the drivers. If it asks you to unplug it while trying to install drivers (get the latest which is from March 2007), just do so.
It missed 1 or 2 channels but not too bad. Image quality isn't so bad either. It's just that there's a bit of jerk/quirk every minute or so and I don't know if and when Artec will correct it.
A thumb sized digital TV tuner.......2007-01-28
The Artec T14A is a useful product and impressive for its combination of low price and compact form. It is well suited for TV viewing on a notebook computer. You can easily slip this tuner plus its antenna into a notebook computer bag. However, if you are looking for an HDTV for everyday TV viewing, or to use your computer as a digital TV recorder, this product may prove to be inadequate.
When the signal is tuned in, the picture quality is excellent, just as expected for any HDTV tuner. However, you might encounter pauses or lags in the image updates, due to performance limits on your computer, or poor signal reception at your location or poor antenna positioning. When using the provided compact antenna, be prepared to finesse the antenna into the best position for reception. You can alternatively connect the antenna of your choice to the standard coax input connector.
I have used the Artec T14A for the past 3 months with my Dell E1505 (1.6GHz Duo Core, 1GB RAM) laptop, running Windows XP MCE. It comes with a CD for installing an ATSC Digital TV application. I used this application to scan for TV channels and to view the TV. When running, it consumed roughly 40% of the processor bandwidth.
It is easy enough to view the TV in full-screen mode, or in a window next to other windows on the screen. You can let it run in the background or side-by-side with a web browser, for example.
This product will not by itself connect with the Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) features; MCE requires that an analog tuner be in use, and then purportedly this HDTV tuner can also be used in conjunction with MCE. On my laptop I decided to give up on using MCE to control the TV and just used the Artec-provided Digital TV software for viewing.
Good Tuner - Bad Antenna.......2006-09-09
The tuner is great...works well...good image.But consider buying it only if you have 1GB or so of RAM..works with 512MB but occassionally gets stuck. The antenna leaves a lot to be desired..a pretty flimsy contraption at best. They could do with improving antenna quality.
