Swimming laps is now FUN!.......2007-10-30
I'm a 30 something year old who can only workout while listening to music. I'd been wanting to swim laps in my gym's pool for some time, but dreaded the boredom of going from one end of the pool & back over and over, without motivating music to keep me afloat. THANKFULLY, I found this product, the H2O waterproof housing for my ipod, and I've been swimming 3 times a week and loving it!!! I'd read the reviews from other purchasers- there was one that stated that his/her ipod drowned while in the case- but, I have complete faith that was a fluke. Just MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE RIGH CASE FOR YOUR IPOD, since there are different generations, etc.
The case allows access to the ipod's controls, so you can adjust volume and change songs while in the water- easily.
I get a lot of questions about it while I'm a the pool, and yes, it is light, and the sound is great (relatively speaking, you have to remember you are underwater), and I completely trust that my ipod will stay dry and safe for the 30+ minutes I spend turning my fingers into prunes in the water.

I've used mine twice now and it works perfectly. No leaks at all. You have to be sure to buy the right model for your Nano; I have a first-generation Nano so I made sure to buy the appropriate model. You also have to plug in the waterproof headphones before you submerge the iPod. Otherwise, water will come in through the headphone hole. The buttons work perfectly, including the track wheel that lets you adjust volume and scroll through the list of artists. Overall, this is a great product that I'm happy to have found.

I LOVE THIS CASE!!! I have been an long distance runner for long enough that my knees are no longer happy with me. When my doctor told me to start cross training I was not happy. Swimming just a few laps felt like it took FOREVER! Now with this case I can easily do 100+ laps per day without the time dragging on. I love this case and would recommend it to anyone. I have never had any leaking problems. The only complaint I would have would be with the "arm band" that the waterproof case can go in. It is really big and gets in the way. I just put the pastic waterproof case right into my bathing suit while I swim and it works great.
Leaked.......2007-07-09
I saw an add for this in the Sky Mall and decided to try it out. The idea of adding music to my lap swimming was very appealing.
I carefully put my nano into the case, closed the lid per the instructions and then tested it in the shower. Everything seemed to be working fine until I got into the pool. After only one pool length the case flooded and ruined my nano. I called Amazon and they were great. Refunded my money and said that they would call H2O to authorize my getting a new Ipod.
When I called H2O, they were no where near as friendly or accomodating as Marco at Amazon and basically told me no new Ipod. I am supposed to send my case to them and then will have their engineers test it to see why it failed. Am still debating if this is even worth the time.
As I mentioned, I am confident that I did everything correctly but if somehow the H2O engineers find that I did something wrong, then this case is way too complicated and if you are planning on swimming laps with any frequency then the chances of the case failing due to user error make this a very bad investment.
handy for snowboarding.......2007-01-16
I bought this for my son who snowboards alot. He says he likes this for protecting his nano and especially that he can operate his ipod with his gloves on. The only downfall is that it is pretty big and the reason he bought a nano was for the convenient small size. Defenitely waterproof. This thing is pretty indistructable and does a great job keeping the moisture out.
