Great product at reduced price.......2007-11-30
It's hard to imagine the constant need for the features offered by this product, unless you often share watching a movie or music while on a long flight or train ride. The dual audio outputs are a bit noisy, and the dock design limits the usefulness of this item to stationary applications. However, for the reduced price offered by select vendors (clearence, no doubt), this is a great combination external battery and dock for your ipod. Costing way less than Apple's dock, it provides similar functionality with the added benefit of the extra power... just in case you need it. Get one, before they are gone!

I got the micro pack 5 days before I left on a long flight to germany. (10 hours) I tested it at work a few days before I left and got 13 hours of video before I had to recharge. Better yet I watched videos for 3 days straight in tv mode with my av cord before having to recharge. (I could have gone longer) I also use the dock and run movies at work all day everyday and it is still working great. I did have an issue with the blue and red lights not working the way the directions explained them and emailed EtremeMac. They were back to me the very next day an explained they had units go out with the lights switched. Just use the pack as directed and reverse the meaning of the lights. Have never had a problem since. Told all my friends and we bought every one in our area. Better yet they were on sale-!! This battery pack is just great!!!!!!!!!!
Unit does not work to company's specs.......2007-09-29
Bought unit, instruction manual says a solid blue led light indicates a full charge for the battery. However, when I charge it (or at least I thought I charged it), all I get is a solid red light. If Ipod sits on the unit it is able to connect to itunes through the unit, however, when connected to a power source alone, all I get is a solid red led display, not blue as instructed in the manual. Think this product may have some serious design flaws. Pretty upset as I'm leaving for a trip tomorrow and I purchased this product last minute with one day shipping and feel I didn't get what I payed for. Be careful with this device, because I don't thing they've worked out all the bugs...
Pretty good extra battery.......2007-09-11
This is a great product for use with the latest generation iPods. If you're taking a long flight, this is a must have. It stands the iPod up for perfect viewing height on those strange little airline trays and it does draw attention from "wannabe" iPod afficianados. And it truly does hold an extra long charge. If fully charged, mine lasted through 7 hours of video. It's not big, but it does pack a big punch.
Only reason I can't give 5 stars is because the audio from the unit is not that powerful when playing videos. But, I plugged the earphones directly into the iPold and let the XtremeMac MicroPack handle the rest.
For long trips, especially airplane flights, this can't be beat.
Good Battery Life Wrong View Angle.......2007-08-07
The battery life on this unit is superb; however, the way your IPod sits in the unit provides a view angle that is too upright. You have to hold or place the unit so it is not uncomfortable to see. The unit is also a little bigger than I thought, but makes up for size in how little it weighs.
