I ordered this mainly because of other reviews that were very good. As the reviews said, the base is too much, the reception is very good, and the construction is very solid. The thick wood makes it wonderfully heavy for a such a small item. The base is excellent but too much and it's not adjustable. Why get this non-portable thing when you can get much better sound from a GE superadio from radio shack for $55? If you like small size, solid construction, good reception, and too much base, then it's a best buy. It's mainly just a style item. //the style is perfect except for the grill over the speaker. They should have use a metal hole type instead of plastic with slots. I remember all those cheap radios that used to use the plastic slots over the speaker. All the good ones had metal holes
