For the price, can't be beat.......2007-12-10
I've used a lot of ipod boomboxes and there are obviously better ones out there, but the next step in quality is going to come at a much higher price point. If you are looking for decent sound from a durable boombox, for around under $100 (hell, I grabbed one for $40), this cannot be beat. Sounds decent at reasonable volume levels, it's very durable, and straight-forward to use. I recommend these to everybody. They will be more than capable for 90% of listeners out there!
Low quality product.......2007-07-20
I bought this product two different times. The first time it was missing the AC adapter, so I returned it and swapped it for a new one at a store. This new one would not charge my ipod--instead it produced this burning smell, which made it seem like it was frazzling my ipod.
That aside, the sound quality is OK. The volume goes up plenty loud, but if you are really into music you will probably not like the mediocre level of sound quality.
I would not recommend this product to anyone. There are many other ipod players to choose from that are similar prices to this one.
Don't risk frying your ipod. It would be very costly to replace!
Better than I expected for the size..........2007-07-03
I received this boom box as a gift a few weeks ago and am very pleased with the quality of sound from this little puppy. It is not going to blast me out of the room, but that is what a fixed stereo is for. In the meantime, the loudness is good, and the base and treble are right where I like them, and the unit feels good and solid. I very much like the options for power - it comes with an AC adapter, a car cigarette lighter adapter, and the option to use batteries. It also has a remote that seems to be the same as the one on my nightstand iHome clock/radio, so it is good to think I might have a spare. One of the things I wanted out of an iPod boom box was for it to fully enclose my iPod Video, so it would not fall out. This system does that very well. My only downside for the system is that I have to partially open the door in the front of the system to access the buttons on the iPod - which is a bit annoying when I have dirty hands. It would have been nice to have a full set of navigation buttons on the outside of the system, instead of just play/pause, next, and previous. (But it probably would have cost 3x as much too, so I will just deal with it.) I am also pretty pleased with the quality of the radio - I wish my iHome clock radio had reception this good.

I actually purchased this cheaper than the price here (got it for $49.99) and I must say that for this price, this is not a bad little speaker setup for your iPod. Would we like it to have an equalizer, of course, but again, you can't beat it for the price. Another nice little perk is the cable for other mp3 players (if you have one) and the lighter adapter...that adapter if perfect for concert or ballgame tailgating... I really like it...would have given it a 3.5 if the rating was available...
Decent but overpriced.......2006-09-29
It's not a bad package all in all -- lightweight, runs off C batteries or an AC power adapter, charges your iPod when docked, and has dock adapters for all but the newest iPod nano models. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the box also included a 1/8" phone plug cable for connecting non-iPod devices and a 12V car power adapter.
My iPod mini and 5G iPod fit snugly into the dock, and the secure fit makes it much easier to use the click wheel than on competing products where the iPod can wobble a bit.
The sound quality is merely adequate and bass is nonexistent. You just can't expect very much from such a small unit. So much for the "Rich full sound" promised by the advertising copy.
I'm rating it only 2 stars because it's not worth the MSRP. I was able to pick one up for a good deal less than list price because of a sale at the local electronics superstore, but with the normal pricing it just doesn't offer a whole lot for the money.
