I like this mp3 player because it does what it needs to do; it is basic and simple. Plus I can have multiple memory sticks with different music, and different sizes. Wish it had a rechargeable battery tho. I got a SD Card reader which also helps save battery life.

I bought this about 5 months ago and am very glad I did.

Pros:
Small unit; I don't even notice it in my shirt pocket
Can controll basic functions without stopping to look at the player.
Good battery life for normal use.
Uses inexpensive SD cards so you won't grow out of it.
Great sound quality (At home I use it with my Sennheiser Head Phones)
Low Price
Works great in Linux

Cons:
Annoying bug in the way it tracks folders (others have mentioned)
No easy way to skip folders (have to read the display and press multiple buttons)
Official limit of 1 GB cards (posters say 2 GB cards work fine)
Battery dies in 1-2 hrs if volume is up high enough to use via car sterio casset adapter.
Hard to find without over priced bundled Lexar SD cards.
No support for ogg file format.

Overall I think this is the best buy out there. I'm using this to get me through the next 1-2 years while the remainder of the iPod fad burns out. After that, MP3 players will be just like every other type of consumer electronics and prices will drop while features and capacity go up. In the meantime, pick one of these up (without a bundled card) and add a 1 or 2 GB SD card and you will be very pleasantly surprised.

Good, but file / folder menu problems.......2006-07-30

Bought this about six months ago, get good duration from a 900mAhh Ni-MH battery. It did shut down on me a couple of times, then I realised it was because of the magnetic field from some screws also in my pocket. Nice sound, seems good value.

However, I have a problem with the menu displaying tracks from the wrong Folder, which if selected it will play the displayed/selected track (but I can't access the one I want this way). However, if I just select (play) the Folder it plays the first track in the Folder I want, and then if I exit the menu I can then skip tracks to get the one I want - not the preferred method.
