The only thing these "cloths" might be good for is invisible dust that could just as easily be blown off ... certainly not smudges, because they are dry and slightly abrasive and if you apply any pressure at all they will scratch your CD. Forget about any kind of "cleaning" with them! Also, the name is misleading. They are not "cloths", the texture is actually similar to a Bounce dryer sheet -- and who would try to clean a CD with one of those?

We spend alot of money keeping ourselves entertained with little discs. CDs, DVDs, CD-ROM, PlayStation...so it makes sense that we want to keep all these discs working at top performance.The "Maxell CD Cleaning Cloths" are a safe(lint-free and non-abrasive), easy and econimcal way to keep them dirt and smudge free,insuring a better quality playback.One gentle wipe of your disc may help to eliminate mistracks or sound distortion.
The price here, for the quanity is the best I have found. I was paying much more by buying them at my local video store.Although, Amazon's price at this time is just a little higher than some of the merchants here,but when you consider there is free shipping from Amazon, it works out pretty good.
And... Don't forget about the CD and DVD players themselves...cleaning the lenses occassionally also helps to improve perfomance. I use and recommend the Memorex CD/DVD Laser Lens Cleaner. It does a good job, is reusable,performs optimazation tests(that checks your system), and is a very reasonable price as well.
So throw these in your cart, the next time you need just that little extra for the free shipping..and don't forget... always clean your CDs in an outward motion starting from the center(never circular)

This lens transforms a large-aperture f2.8 300 millimeter lens into a zoom lens that allows you to determine the picture composition you want without having to change your vantage point. It has two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements in front group and another SLD element in the rear group for excellent correction of chromatic aberration.
The latest in multi-layer lens coating technology and lens design reduce flare and ghosting, which is a common problem with digital cameras, and it also creates an optimum color balance through the entire zoom range. The lens' AF drive is equipped with a silent, responsive and high speed Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), which also provides full-time manual focus function. Since focusing and zooming do not change its overall length, this lens is easy to hold and use. In addition, since the front of the lens does not rotate, a circular polarizing filter can be easily attached and used.
