great camera for pic taking mom.......2007-12-24
I love to take pictures of my two girls. This camera is great for my purposes. It takes great pictures. Also, my video camera is not working and for little clips - its really quite good. The only drawback is sometimes there is a delay in taking pics and sometimes the pics are too dark. very possibly - this is my fault b/c I have not read all the directions. I'd recommend it to all parents with a fondness for capturing their childrens' moments.

I mostly shoot film, but a good digital camera is good to have. And this is a good digital camera, especially for the price.
Out of the box you get the camera, charging cable, battery, and USB computer cable. Not included is a secure digital (SD) card. You'll have to get that. A 1 gig SD will set you back only $20 and is a worthy investment, enabling you to take anywhere between 300-1,000 pics.
The camera is pretty basic, but has some nice features. A slider bar on the back lets you choose between still shots, movies (saved in AVI files) and view photo mode.
Easy to navigate menu button and four way navigation button enable you navigate the menus, choosing photo size, red eye removal, and cropping and photo border options.
There are also advanced photo options letting you choose between portrait, landscape, night, sunset, and action shooting modes.
Pictures take quickly and there is only about a half second shutter lag.
I do not have anything to say about the HP software. I don't use it. I use a Mac, and iPhoto. Hooking up the camera to your Mac in this way automatically downloads photos and movies to iPhoto.
The pictures are clear and beautiful.

Bought this camera from HP for $102 and upgraded the SD memory card to 1GB for 14 bucks. It now stores over 800 photos at 7Megapixel and 1hr of video. More than enough for us. Be warned there is no speaker when reviewing the audio. Battery is great.My wife fell in love with ease of use and the editing features built into the camera. You can change to black.white, remove red eye, crop photos, and few other quick things that are helpful.

I bought this camera for my wife as she just wants to have a digital camera and only thing she needs is to "push the button down", the camera is very easy to operate. Especially with such low price (I paid $127.00).
The only thing I found Amazon only supply one color, however, HP does make three different color for this camera, I would like to have black color if it is available on Amazon.

Simple point and shoot with not too many manual settings. I would prefer more, but it does take very good, sharp pictures.
