Great replacement!.......2007-11-08
The size of this replacement unit over the OEM power supply is great. It is like using a cell phone charger instead of a box of nails! Wish I had replaced the old unit years ago!

Amazon.com Product Description
The Sony Mavica MVC-FD90 digital camera combines a powerful 8x optical zoom lens with a respectable 1.3-megapixel CCD. The camera also features an MPEG movie mode, audio annotation for your images, and a manual focus ring. The built-in flash features red-eye reduction and night-synch modes. Built-in zoom, trim, and resize functions encourage manipulation of the images while they are still in the camera. For maximum image resolution, the camera also includes an interpolated 1.6-megapixel image setting. Users compose images by viewing the 2.5-inch color LCD monitor on the back of the camera. This monitor also reveals the remaining shooting time in minutes, a well as having indicators for flash, focus, and other functions.
Like most of the other cameras in the Mavica line, the MVC-FD90 uses floppy disks to store photos. At maximum image quality, five images fit on one floppy. At the other end of the spectrum is the e-mail setting, which captures 80 images at 320 x 240 resolution on a single disk. To address concerns about the limited number of photos one can store on a low-capacity floppy disk, Sony has devised a high-capacity solution: the camera will accept the MSAC-FD2M floppy adapter, a device that looks like a floppy disk. Sony's Memory Stick (available in capacities up to 64 MB) slides into the adapter, and the adapter slides into the camera's floppy drive, essentially giving you a 64 MB floppy disk.
The package includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a battery charger, a shoulder belt, AV cable, and ArcSoft PhotoStudio software for Windows.

The Best Camera on the Market for eBay.......2006-04-27
I am an eBay dealer in antiques, coins and collectibles of every stripe. My camera is a key component of my livelihood, and I can say unequivocally that the FD90 is the best camera for online merchandise photos out there. It may be a little bulky for outdoor everyday use, and the internal charger would be quite limiting for a vacation camera. But I never unplug my camera, so that makes no difference to me.
There is no more convenient medium for storing and ultimately editing photos than a floppy disk. It eliminates steps, and when you are doing 20 or 30 items at a time, it can make a real difference.
But the big advantage is the quality of the photos. My shots are demonstrably better than my competitors (my eBay seller ID is auktiononline_com so check for yourself). This camera has the all important macro feature for closeups, and I still marvel at the clarity of the closeups. I can easily show the flaws on a coin or a baseball card.
As for reliablity, AI have taken thousands upon thousands of shots with my FD90 over the last 3 years with no mechanical problems whatsoever.
easy to use.......2003-02-24
I have one and the led screen got broken and want to replace because of the ease to use. The pictures come out like a professionals when printed if right settings are used. Absolutely would recomend to most novice of photographers.
Good camera for personal use........2002-02-20
I have had this camera for a year and have really enjoyed it. I like saving on 3.5 disk, good for backup for important picures. You can adjust the size, quality, etc. I comes with easy to use software. For 1.6 mega pixel it makes good pictures.
a web multimedia studio in one(tiny)box!.......2001-11-24
I just love this camera. If you want big prints of glossy pictures then buy something else. If you're happy with 6x4 prints, but your main focus is on web content then this the camera for you. Photos, movies, sound recording, automatic creation of email photos - all fantastic for web-savvy snappers.
The images quality is very smooth, with good colour balance, there's lots of auto features but you can override them if you want to. I sometimes shoot 200 pix in a single session (expensive if you're using 35mm!)and carry this thing around as much as possible. Love it!
Mavica mvc FD90.......2001-10-22
I love it. Such clear pictures, I can take pictures inside most of the
time without the flash on. It is the easist camera I have used.

Not Good Enough.......2007-09-20
Not good enough, I had to open it up to see what makes it tick because it doesn't work. Two gear systems, one for up/down and one for left/right. Gears don't mess, hence the clicking noise as it tries to go left as you are facing it. The gear system connects to the motor by a meager rubber band that is too near gear grease. The asymbly is too loose and the threads of the gears are able to separate and sometimes jam. As stated before, good idea but it doesn't work very well. Oh yes, you had better use a very small camcorder. It can't take the weight and you can't take the wait to see if it will eventually work.
tilt tripod head with remote control.......2007-07-13
Product is a panning device, it pans way too fast for what it is intended to do,it should barely move back & forth, but move. Also so so difficult to connect all the pieces to the tripod, very flimsy once you do get it connected to the tripod. Product does not live up to its "name".
Remote Pan/Tilt tripod head.......2007-03-09
Worked fine for me. Used it to tape birdfeeder action. The remote had better range than my camcorder's remote.
Great Idea, but VERY Low Quality Product.......2007-01-27
Looking at the specs, this product matched exactly what I was looking for. I have a Sony TRV38 Digital Camcorder that I want to control from across the room. This unit is supposed to do that. The first one that arrived worked as advertised except for the automatic panning feature. It would pan to the right, but stopped when it reached its limit when panning to the left.
I returned it to 47st Photo and was sent a replacement about a week later. This unit's automatic panning feature worked fairly well, with a couple of spots where it appeared to drag slightly as it panned the head. This unit, however, has a dead remote sensor ... a wired external infrared receiver that plugs into the main unit allowing the user to control pan and tilt functions when the tripod head has moved out your line-of-sight. I called 47st. Photo again (a week ago). Rather than ship this entire unit back, she said she would see if they could ship me just another remote sensor. No word yet. If I don't hear from them within another couple of days I'm sending the whole unit back for a refund. Sometimes 47st. doesn't answer their phone, so that makes it even more aggravating!
