Works in Dell Optiplex Small Form Factor.......2007-12-21
I was disappointed when I bought my new pc to find out that I couldn't get video off my Sony camcorder via one of the many USB ports (Sony doesnt support this in Vista). This card does fit into the one available PCI slot in my Dell Optiplex 755 and the provided cable plugged right into my camcorder dock. Works like a charm, now I have all my videos on my PC.

It took a lot of finaggling to install. I had to jam it in the right spot, which is a really tight space in my computer apparently. It wouldn't read at first, so I just took it out and put it back in again and then it popped up and installed. If it doesn't read on your computer right away DON'T PANIC, like I did, just keep trying to take it out and put it back in.
Low Profit FireWire card is perfect for slim computers.......2007-07-05
This card fit perfectly in the slim Dell C521 PC and was recognized by the Vista OS immediately. When I connected the camcorder to it, it recognized it and gave me options to edit the tape in the camcorder. I did not encounter any problems. Very good product.

Fit perfectly in my slim Dell C521 Desktop. Works great and was immediately recognized by the system. If you have the C521 I would really recommend this for firewire drives and video / regular cameras. Works flawlessly! Would have preferred to get it cheaper as some have but I needed quickly and it has performed perfectly!

I'm as low tech as they come. I needed a firewire port so I could upload from my digital video camera. I had no idea what I was doing. I got the specs for the card from my computer manufacturer. I followed the directions that came with the card. It took me all of five minutes to install and I haven't had any problem with it. Yay!

Storage and Transfer

Don't purchase!!!! Waste of $$$...Broken Battery door.......2007-11-13
I have this camera, as well as the CX7300 model. As the other reviews have stated, it's a great camera...until the battery door breaks. I had this camera for just about year when the door cracked. It worked for a little while after that with duct tape, but that doesn't even work anymore. Then shortly after it happened to the other model. I think it is a shame that Kodak made these wrong and will not repair them for free. May I recommend the Canon A550 or A560. Don't waste your money on this one or any other Kodak camera.
broken battery door .......2007-10-20
I have purchased 2 of these cameras from kodak and The battery door cover cracked on both in the same exact spot.It is very difficult to use now.I duct tape it shut but it usually does not work. I would NEVER EVER buy from Kodak again.
Battery Door Breaks EASILY.......2007-10-20
I have purchased 2 of these cameras in a 1 yr range. BOTH cameras I paid more then 300 dollars for each one w/ the printer docks. The battery door broke on both. They take beautifull pictures but when you have to duct tape your camera it looks like crap and to send it to Kodak and pay 105.00 for a problem that is quit obviously a manufactures defect with these cameras, THEY should pay for it not me. I will never purchase another Kodak again. While it does take wonderfull pictures its of no use when after 6 months to a yr. of use the battery door breaks and you have to pay the company who made it wrong 105.00 dollars to fix it, it just isnt worth it in the long run.Purchase another brand.
Broken door.......2007-06-26
I had the same problem with the battery door for my DX6340. After looking around on the Internet it does appear that this is a design flaw. Kodak wants me to send my camera to Connecticut for repairs. But why would I want them to put on another door that will also eventually break? Instead I have Super glued the door back together and plan to reenforce it with a small piece of metal and some duct tape. It may not look good but I'm certain that it will hold the door together better than the original design.
Possbile Design Defect - Battery Door.......2007-06-20
My husband bought a DX6340 and was pleased with it so I bought one, too. Shortly after that the battery door on his camera broke and would not close. A few months later when I took my camera out of the camera bag I discovered my battery door was broken and would not close. I contacted Kodak for repair. They would not sell a battery door. They wanted $105 to fix it or they would sell me a trade in for $199. My camera was only a little over a year old and mechanically fine except for the broken door. I will not buy another Kodak product.

#932 45° Erecting Prism: If the ETX-90EC is to be used for extensive terrestrial applications, the #932 45° Erecting Prism is a useful accessory. Images through the 90° eyepiece-holder appear right-side-up, but reversed left-for-right. The #932 Prism threads on to the telescope's photo port and presents a correctly oriented image as well as a convenient 45° observing angle. An eyepiece of any focal length (magnifying power) may be inserted into the #932 Prism. Note that the flip-mirror control must be in the "down" position for use with the #932 Prism.

Great for terrestrial, ok for astronomy.......2001-05-30
This 45 degree erecting prism is great for birding or terrestrial viewing but is not suitable for star gazing (imagine if the star is right above your head). For star gazing the prism does not reflect as much light as desired so you won't be able to see dim distant objects easily, for that I recommend star diagonal with everbrite mirror ( from televue), it will cost more but a good investment for anyone who is serious about star gazing.
Useful- but not for astronomy.......2000-06-16
This is a generic Pacific-rim made prism imported by Meade, and not terribly different from similar items sold by Celestron, Orion and other popular companies catering to amateur astronomers. It's a useful accessory for nature viewing, but don't try to use it for star gazing. Because of how they're constructed, with multiple reflecting surfaces, erecting diagonals lose a lot of light, something you can't afford when looking at distant, dim images. Worse, they produce ghost images- for every star or planet, you'll see a dim twin nearby. Save it for daylight use, and you'll have no problem.

This prism is needed if you intend to use your telescope for terrestrial viewing and photograpy. If you do not use it, your image will be inverted.
