Not Bad, Not Perfect Either.......2007-11-14
Good Sound Quality and people easily understand me over the microphone. The microphone also is on a pivot so it is easy to move out of the way when not in use.
The simulated surround sound is of marginal usefulness. If you are not utilizing any type of voice chat it is great. However, I have noticed a decrease in voice sound quality with the surround turned on.
They are comfortable for long term play, IF you do not wear glasses. They can be rather painful after only a short period of time if you do. This is a fairly common problem with all headsets though.
There is a volume control in the middle of the cord that is a little bulky and can get annoying. It also has the switch on it to turn the surround on/off. On the upside though, the headset appears very durable as it still works fine after being launched across the room multiple times when the volume control got caught on my clothing and I tried to walk away.
Overall its a good headset, but you can probably get the same sound quality much cheaper. I actually have a $15 pair of Sony headphones that gives equal or better sound quality, but alas, no microphone.
Good Could use some comfort.......2007-08-16
Quality of the headset is great, sounds wonderful. I find I don't use the SRS very often if at all. The comfort of them could be a little more improved, i've had it for a while now and it really hasn't improved a whole lot. It's not bad until after about 2-3 hours, but for those of us that play long periods of time it gets annoying.
Best you'll get for that price.......2007-04-03
While admittedly not the best headphones i've ever owned, for that price, you can't beat'm. The sound quality without the SRS surround on is decent and plenty clear for games of music, if you can live with little bass. And for those familiar with the SRS technology, you'll find that this may be the only time that synthetic surround sound through two speakers has ever been properly implemented. True, it may not sound as good as the latest $xxx speaker system from l******, but it does provide a much improved spatial awareness in games and movies, and with some tweaking, can be used to add the bass back to your music. BTW, it's awesome for Unreal 2004 and CS:S, so I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.
Altec Lansing AHS-602I Headset.......2007-02-17
I would give this around 4/5. Was a wonderful buy as now when I play games I can hear the player comming before it happens. Also has a surround sound function but I am still not used to it. Also the mic has a high pickup and people said they could hear me loud and clear. Only thing is it requires a AAA battery in the little control thing. Also that sometimes falls off but I just usually keep it on my lap.
Otherwise nice headset. 4/5.
Fair Sound, Great Microphone.......2006-03-19
This is definitely not what I expected. It has "simulated" surround sound, and it requires AA battery if you want to simulate surroundsound. The battery lasts about a week if you use it constantly, 12 hours a day.
In all honesty, it is more of an echo than surroundsound. To me, it sounds like any other headset, just a bit louder. The microphone however is really good. I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8.0, and I noticed a tremendous accuracy increase when using this headset.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO PEOPLE WITH GLASSES:
The cup ear pieces press the glasses into your head. After about two hours, it gets quite uncomfortable. They fit very very snug around the ears, but this causes the ends of the glasses to poke into your head behind your ears. The headset is also quite tight, even after adjusting it.
To sum it up, the sound is fair, and the microphone is great.

Incredible Price, modest expectations.......2007-02-25
To be fair I was using a Canon IXUS before, so I was realistic that for $120 it would not be a metal casing or the same feature set - the Canon is x3 the price.
I added a 1Gb card to the Xacti.
I have now been using this camera for about one month now and have to say it is pretty good, the retro styling is nice, but you then expect it to be truer to the retro theme in use of materials - matt black/metal - the actual touch is a little disappointing, the black is plastic/plastic - not rubberised or textured in any way and the metal is just plastic.
Controls are well set out.
The LCD display is pretty good, camera startup fast and prompt. In fact the operating system is the best part of the camera, plenty of settings and features. ISO settings, etc.
The camera has a 1-point & 9-point auto focus choice, but both seem to struggle in lower (not so low light) light - making it very easy to get either blurred or pictures with artifacts.
You really need to experiment and I'm not convinced it takes above average pictures on auto.
Overall, I'd say it is an amazing camera for £60/$120, 6 mega-pixels, 3 x optical zoom.
But after having used a Canon, I will be buying one of their new 2007 models when they are released and passing the Xacti to either my Mum or using it in situations where it might get bumped.
