Good Inexpensive Storage for Your Media.......2007-08-14
I am a huge music fan and have been buying compact discs for two decades now. That's a lot of discs! I had a tall floor standing rack that held over 500 discs and when I bought it, I never imagined filling it up! Well, 10 years later it was full. I bought a second similar model (not an exact match) and soon it was full. I did not want to buy another expensive ($150 - $200) model that did not match the other two, so I opted for this Osker model. I figured, What the heck, it's only $45.
I knew it would not be real wood like my other models, just particle board with a faux laminate cover. And it's just as I expected. For the money, it's a bargain. Good temporary storage until I have some custom shelving put in my office space in the near future.
It's easy to put together, but be careful. The wood peices are kinda thin and can be broken easily if stressed. Once the whole thing is put together though, it is quite adaquete to hold one's CD's and DVD's. if you look at the picture, you will notice different shelf spacing for CD's and DVD's or VHS tapes. This is a nice feature. I can now store my music DVD's with my other music.

Does exactly what it was designed to do........2007-12-17
I hate camera bags - so I bought this to add a bit of protection when I realized my camera was taking a bit of damage bouncing around on my shoulder all day. It does that perfectly.
There are some cons that people have pointed out:
Yes, you can still break your camera while you have it on. Shocker.
Yes, it might get a little dirty (likes to attract pet hair sometimes).
And yes, if you don't put it on right, it might cause the flash to not pop up correctly.
But, in my opinion, those are all more a function of user error than the product's fault.
It should come with a little disclaimer...
This will not make your camera invulnerable - this is made out of rubber, not a miracle substance you have not heard of. You should still keep your camera away from dirt and moisture - this product does not make your camera water proof. You should read the instructions on how to install this correctly.
For what you're paying, you're getting a little extra protection - particularly around the lens so if it happens to bump against that chair or person or whatever else it seems to hit when on my shoulder, it has a little give (the lens part is very bouncy and has a lot of give, which i've noticed has reduced the shock on my poor lens when I seem to hit everything in the planet while walking around).
Contrary to other reviews, it works perfectly with the flash. When I first put it on I didn't put it on right so the flash only went half way up - then I realized i was a moron and realized I put it on wrong (the little rubber slot slides into the flash hole - not rests on top of it) and now everything works perfectly.
A neat little trick is that the lens cover piece can roll back so you can easily put the lens cover on, or get it out of the way while taking a shot. The rubber is that flexible - and it really makes things a lot easier.
Another note is that it really doesn't add much bulk to your camera at all. I have the (extremely tight fitting) Zing large zoom case (with my 28-135mm) and I can still jam it in there. I'm not saying it's a piece of cake to get in, but it does fit - and that's all that matters for me because, as previously mentioned, I hate camera bags.
By the way, I just got Canon's 580EX II flash and it was awesome to see this product was designed to work perfectly with the external flash. It takes about .05 seconds to put the flash on and leave the rest of the camera protected. The 580EX even has the soft rubber on the sides so it matches the Made rubber quite nicely.
Anyway, if you have realistic expectations about what this little tiny investment is for your camera, you'll be happy.
Enjoy!
Camera Insurance.......2007-12-06
I bought this used-exc. condition
At the price I paid (~$20), it was probably a good piece of insurance for the expensive camera, but don't think it would be worth full price. Difficult to attach tripod (SLIK) with armor in place.
Good for outdoor use.......2007-11-02
I have mixed feelings about Camera Armor. First, it really does protect your camera. I got the armor right before I went to Hawaii. We were hiking on the big island and I took a tumble on the rocks. I was in bad shape, but my camera was unharmed. Based on how I landed, I feel that the Lens Armor saved my Canon 30D that day. It is pretty easy to put on and for the most part does not interfere with all of the buttons. It does interfere with the pop-up flash. In fact, it prevents you from using it altogether. If the Lens Armor is not on exactly right it has been my experience that it may interfere with the auto focus, but that is a matter of adjusting it after you take it out of your camera bag. For studio work I take off the Camera Armor, but I put it back on if I will be out hiking or in rough terrain. I do absolutely love the grip and ergonomic strap that are produced by MADE. They are super comfortable. I don't know if I really believe it will hold up to as much weight as they say on their web site. Both products are held onto the camera with small metal rings, similar in appearance to those used on cheap keychains. Still, they haven't broken on me yet after seven months of use.
Armor.......2007-07-02
Overall a good product although it does seem to attract some dust. It fits the camera like a custom glove and doesn't interfere with any of the buttons or dials. Be prepared for the added bulk although it wasn't a problem for me. It's great protection for the money.
Great protection!.......2007-06-01
Camera Armor rocks! Despite reviews that I read saying that the armor collects too much dust, I decided to try it out anyway. I am so glad that I did. Yea, it picks up some unwanted dust and lint, but not to the extreme that people claimed. I would recommed that the company make it with a better, more tack-free surface, but it is well worth having the body protection that it offers. The pop-up flash is completely operable with the armor on. Those that stated otherwise must have not had it attached properly or maybe had a bad one. It does make the camera more bulky. I didn't like that at first. As I continued to use it, I forgot about that fact and appreciated the protection. If you have a really small hand, it could be a problem, I guess. If you are shooting in a sandstorm in the Sahara, it will get dusty... but so will you. It is a little difficult to change batteries, but eventually I got the hang of it. You have to kind of "peel" back the edge around the battery door to get it to open. It does have a few flaws, but is certainly worth having. I will really appreciate it in a few years when my camera still looks new.
