Bad time consumer and teaser!!!.......2007-10-07
This device looks good but is a waste of time.Once you plug everything up,
you think you're ready to have fun.
You'll begin trying different avenues for a solution but will get nowhere.
For me,the sound works crisp and clear but the images show up shaking as you watch them.I think the problem is the VGA cord.

I got it working w/o much trouble, but it's not great image quality. Substantially worse quality than if I play movies out of my DVD player to my TV. If I put it through an rf converter to put it into my TV rather than plugging directly in the rca port on my TV (for convenience w/ my setup) -- as suggested for older TVs in the instructions -- the image is completely washed out and useless.
I don't know what quality is available with other boxes. I got this one because it was cheap, and it works, though I wish it was better quality for watching Netflix instant downloads...

Normally I don't bother to write reviews for electronics, but this adapter turned out to be so useful as to deserve my brief praise.
As far as the standard package concerns, you'll actually get the VGA, RCA, and S-Video cables along with the adapter. I found that the S-Video cable produced scratchy imaging, but luckily the yellow RCA did a PERFECT job instead, so even when one didn't work, I was able to fall back on the other - 'still a five star adapter.
Occasionally I do have to press the "Size" button twice to get the TV to produce desireable results, but this is a small issue, and it fails to outweigh the awesomeness of being able to operate a PC over my TV set at any time, 24/7.
Once you plug the adapter in, expect to change the screen resolution from your PC - I recommend 640 x 480 resolution despite that it's not generous (any higher than that, and I have to put on glasses). You'll still be able to run software that demands a higher resolution. This is a sort of product that, even if you run into technical issues, there's probably a quick fix around them.
Otherwise, this adapter does a perfect job of bringing the PC to the world of television. If you have a PC that you feel tempted to throw out, don't do it - get the adapter and make the most of your software.

I purchased this item online and returned the very next day. I watch live tv from india. so , i got this item to connect to my tv . i could only see flickering b/w and colors. :) see what i got for 46$ . I have a dell inspiron laptop which does not have a tv out/s-video. i purchased this scan converter , hoping this would help. i don't want to spend $$$ to connect my laptop to tv.
If you intend to do the same. be warned, it won't work.

Great product overall, but not good at displaying small text.......2007-03-20
this product was so easy to install and set up. all you have to do is open the box, power it on, use the supplied S-Video or RCA-Video cable to connect it to your tv or projector. all the cabling that you need is included in the box!
I used mine to shoot my media center pc video to my 32" flat panel tv. it works like an charm. if you are looking for an reliable and innexpensive product to split your pc video connection to an tv and your monitor this is a great product.
if you are planning on using this product to make your tv a second computer monitor the video will probably be to fuzzy for you to use, it does not handle displaying small text very well. If you are planning to use this as a link to connect a computer to a tv to play dvd movies, video or powerpoint presentations from your computer this is a decent product for the price.

Cheap Animation Paper.......2005-09-05
Who needs expensive punched animation bond when 3-hole punched copy paper will do? For several years now we have been using this kind of paper (any brand will do) to create animation drawings. For a pegbar, I use a modified wood ruler for 3-ring binders with short 5/8" dowel pieces glued into the 3 holes. The 3-hole punch paper slides over the dowels perfectly and keeps drawings registered. I always keep the holes on the top and usually draw with the aid of a Light Tracer light box. You can even store your drawings in a 3-ring binder. D-ring styles are the best choice for this purpose.
