Product Description

Speaker wire is made from copper wire that can corrode very quickly, rapidly deteriorating the performance of your cables and the overall performance of your system. Toavoid this, always terminate your speaker wire with connectors. The kind of connector you need varies with the kinds of connectors on the back of your amp/receiver and your speakers. In many cases, the connectors will mandate Banana type plugs, and that's where the QL GMT-H Package includes two pair (4 connectors)

I ordered these connectors for my home theater and I love them. No more messy, exposed copper threads! These connectors make for a nice look as well as good functionality. I love how you can reuse them if you need to attach them to a different speaker cable. Highly recommended for a clean, professional install.

I've gone through several different types of bananna connectors for my home theater installs. I even tried the Dayton and Monoprice budget recommendations from several audio buffs on AVSForums. While they worked "as expected" they weren't as tight and easy to use as these Monster Quicklocks.

Pros
- One you tighten them up, they aren't coming loose.
- You get a very clean look.
- Super-easy to install.

Cons
- High price

Very happy with the banana style connector.......2007-07-05

Audiophiles seem to prefer the spade style, but I found that the slightest movement of the speaker cable will loosen the nut on the speaker binding post. I returned those connectors for the banana style of the same Monster model, and am very happy with these. The "quick lock" feature is indeed quick and makes a very solid connection. I particularly like that the wire strands are splayed around the connecting surface, and as a result more individual wire strands are in physical contact with the connector. Tip: Buy a can of Caig DeOxit Gold and spray all connector surfaces as well as the bare wire strands before assembling.
