Beware: Cables are NOT 6 ft long!.......2007-09-06
I got the order in a timely manner. Two cables in a package. I was expecting 6 foot cables, but they were both only 4 ft. The extra two feet were critical to my setup, so I'm very disappointed that I didn't get what I was expecting.

5 Great Months - RIP.......2007-03-03
This is a great product as long as you backup your data WEEKLY (or more often). I became a little comfortable and lazy and didn't backup for 6 weeks and lost any new data when the drive suddenly, after 5 months just stopped working. Reviewing online it seems to be fairly common experience - 3 months to 1 year drive failure.

so, this orange thingy is prettier than a lot of USB key out there...(of course) and it's one of the reason i bought it. It's a little bit thicker than i thought it'd be though.....what can i say? it's got 8G!!
i wish it came in more color choices!!

I've been using mine for about a month now. It works great under heavy use. I frequently need to transfer alot of files between alot of computers. Many of the computers have narrow or hard to reach USB ports. Previously I've had to carry around a USB extension cable just so I could attach a thumb drive or external HD into some of these ports. The built-in USB connector on the Lacie Carte Orange is small enough that I no longer need to do that. It fits into all of the recessed or narrow USB ports that I've tried without problem. Some of the reviews I saw on this before buying said the USB connector looked fragile and might break over time. I don't know about long term durability, but so far it seems stronger than it looks. I've had no problem plugging it in and letting it hang from the USB connector without support.
As far as regular use goes, it works well, it's fast and I haven't had any errors or lost files yet B"EH.
I'm very happy using this, at least until the Lacie Cart Orange 12GB comes along :)

8GB in my pocket all the time. At this price and with very good performance, it is the best usb key you can buy. The design is cool as usual with LaCie. The product is plug and play. The price is buy and play. I love and show it everywhere. I brind back more mp3 or video everyday. It is not another storage but a MUST in your pocket.
