doesnt work, plain and simple...dont get scammed...I tried everything
Doesn't work for most applications.......2003-12-18
In reference to a previous review: OK, granted it's cheap, but it does *not* work. There is a working alternative, though: see later in this review.
My goal was to use an EluminX keyboard (a backlit unit available at a good price from Amazon) with my Playstation2, for use in chatting during Everquest Online Adventure sessions. Previously, I was using an old Gateway USB keyboard, and turning a desk lamp on when I wanted to say something-- not too handy!
For reasons that are shrouded in mystery, the company responsible for the EluminX chose a crusty old IBM-PC interface called PS/2. (And you can imagine the confusion when I asked sales clerks for a device to use a PS/2 keyboard on a PS2.) It's a Mini-DIN similar to the serial connector of an old Macintosh. No problem, though; all you need is a converter-- right?
But not this one.
When connected, the keyboard started glowing, showing that there was power to the device. But, I couldn't type a word. Trying it on a couple of USB-equipped Macs and a Windows computer, the results were the same-- light but no type. Plugging it into the Windows box's PS/2 port showed that the keyboard was, in fact, working.
Not counting those abortions that have dedicated sound volume knobs, or eMail, Web, and other keys, keyboards are as standard as AA batteries. If the Micro Connectors device doesn't translate that, how can it translate something more complex? Sure, I may have got a bum unit, but based on what most of the others here are saying I would consider this to be a waste of seven dollars.
But lo! there is hope! I bought a Radio Shack PS/2 to USB Adapter, part number 26-226. It cost about $13. It worked perfectly in all three places, and now I'm happily chatting while slaying monsters.
Buy the EluminX from Amazon, but buy your converter from Radio Shack.
not a good stuff..........2003-11-15
there is no driver at all.... where can find a driver for it????
I am using win XP system...
any suggestion would be appreciated...
A product that works and is cheap.......2003-07-29
This is by far the best deal I found on a male USB to female PS/2 adapter. It does exactly what it says it does. In reference to a previous review, it is not a magic adapter, and the old devices you might plug in through it may still need drivers on newer operating systems.
Need's Driver for Win2k/XP?.......2003-05-09
This item ships without any software. You can't just plug any ps2 keyboard with this adapter into a usb port and expect it to work. I will be returning this item soon.

Fastest 28mm wide angle rangefinder lens, but............2005-07-15
The Voigtlander Ultron 28mm f1.9 Aspherical wide angle lens is yet another very good example of the rangefinder lenses being produced by Voigtlander (now owned by Cosina). Those who are reluctant to spend the hundreds of dollars required to purchase Leica's 28mm M mount rangefinder lenses may find this lens a satisfactory alternative for most of their rangefinder photography. However, if they find that they must use their lens wide open, then I would recommend instead taking a look at the Leica 28mm f2 ASPH Summicron-M, Leica 28mm f2.8 Elmarit-M, or the Zeiss ZM 28mm f2.8 Biogon lenses as better performing alternatives to this lens. Optically, I have read one report - I believe it was at Erwin Puts's website - which had this Voigtlander lens performing nearly as well as the Leica Elmarit-M lens. M mount rangefinder owners will have to purchase a screw mount to M mount adaptor in order to mount this lens onto their cameras.
